Belly dancing, sound proof babies, propellor dads, paint, and Duracell kids

8 Things you don’t get to photographe every day

Let’s face it, for a wedding photographer weddings are like the Groundhog day: everything is the same and yet every time things are different. Laura & David’s pre-wedding henna party organized by Alex Cowell from Spirit Azur on the beach was on a completely different level though….

  • Sound-proof ventilated babies. Brilliant.
  • Bellydancing can be really awesome. This woman and her hip movements were really captivating.
  • Dad dressed up in Moroccan outfit while flying his drone. I couldn’t help wondering if his hat would also take off at one moment.
  • Megaphones & moms combine very well to make very effective announcements.
  • Moroccan & Jewish & French & English things and people make an interesting mix. These categories are not mutually exclusive.
  • Little kids run on Duracell batteries.
  • Henna painting is a fun activity for guests.
  • Bare feet in the sand beats shoes any day

Judge for yourself by looking at the pictures below.

Congratulations and thanks to Alex Cowell from Spirit Azur for having created this amazing and beautiful environment. After having set me up to take pictures in the dark and in a sandy environment I accept your next challenge (in the air or underwater).

Laura & David, your family and friends and spirit for life are amazing!

Then there was the decoration and location that were spectacular: on the beach in Cannes (French Riviera) and with the henna / Maraccan-theme organized by Alex Cowell from Spirit Azur. When Alex gets involved you know things will look beautiful.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][dt_photos_masonry padding=”10″ column_width=”900″ columns=”1″ number=”30″ orderby=”title” order=”asc” category=”laura-david”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Their password protected wedding gallery can be found here.

The wedding of Chiara and Charlie

Chiara and her smile, she just doesn’t seem to live life without that smile of hers!

Congratulations to Chiara and Charlie for having pulled off a wonderfully relaxed wedding where they made my work 100x easier: when everybody is out having fun and there’s no stress then 1/2 of my work is already done! You guys rocked and it was amazing to see such a reunion of people from all those locations around the world.

In my never-ending quest to make best out of weddings and the photography I’ve decided to start showing video slide show instead of static images. It’s a little surprise for the them and I love how it really brings things to life and how it becomes more emotional! Let me know what you think and I’m always up for song recommendations!

A Wedding in the Chateau de Mauriac

Delphine & Alex decided to go for a wedding with style and they succeeded: the Chateau de Mauriac! What a location! The day started out with the preparations in the heart of Toulouse and doing Delphine transform form a casual look to a real princess was sight to behold! They choose to see do a First Look which is something that’s highly recommended for anyone getting married. For those who do not know it, it means that the first time you’ll see each other on the day of your wedding will be before the ceremony, thereby

  • Creating an extra moment
  • Being able to share the special moment
  • You’ll end up with more pictures, all photo documentary style
  • You’re freeing yourselves up so you can spend more time with guests instead of taking some pictures

After the town hall and the church ceremonies it was time to enjoy the Chateau de Mauriac and spend time with guests. Their easy going and fun nature continuously showed up throughout the entire evening: either with a photo booth for guests to take fun pictures (see the picture down below) or with the many little challenges each table had to do (for example, having to write names with human bodies).

This will definitely be a wedding to be remembered!
